Meet the Owner/Artist
Welcome to Brighter Day Original. Thank You for taking time to visit my website.
My name is Jennifer Rhode, and I am the owner/artist/maker/chief bottle washer here at Brighter Day Original. My artistic journey started at a very young age. Being in 4-H, I was involved in a lot of projects including sewing, ceramics, home environment, as well as countless livestock projects. I even taught myself to crochet at the age of 8.
Creating has always been my life blood. You name it, and I have tried it. Sewing, scrapbooking, quilting, jewelry making, glass bead making, knitting, crocheting, photography, and graphic design to name the major ones. I love that my creations can still draw from the variety of media that I have enjoyed.
I love to gift handmade creations (sorry family), thus in the winter of 2017 I was in search of gift ideas for my daughter’s college friends. I stumbled upon epoxy resin tumblers. Girls and glitter go hand in hand, right? So it was perfect. I asked my husband to build me the necessary equipment for my birthday. In the beginning I only created gifts for family and friends. Then people began to ask if I could make them for them. I was at a place and time in my life, with my children getting older, that I had the time to invest in learning and growing.
Now, over 3 and a half years later, it is a full time business for me! Why do I do it? Because I love the fact that I can create a little piece of functional art that can be enjoyed. My business name actually stems from just that, my desire to make the recipients day brighter.
Based on the northeastern plains of Colorado, I run my business from my home in Fort Morgan. I grew up in a small town not far from here. I am married to long time educator Kevin Rhode, and we have three children, Cora, Luke and Timothy. I employ all of their help from time to time. If you have ever seen me at a vendor event or show, you know my husband is always right there helping.
I am excited to now offer a place for my creations to be purchased, ready-to-sell, online. Have no fear though, you will also still see me at art and craft fairs. I really enjoy them and love chatting with my customers. Custom orders will still be accepted as well.
Please enjoy browsing my collection, and don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions.
